The name of Damask Rose and Golab (Rose Water) are an inseparable part of Qamsar city, located in 30 kilometers from south of Kashan, Isfahan Province.

The Golab Museum is an old house called Zakeri House, one of the most ancient workshops of Golabgiry in Qamsar with a total area of 500 meters, consists of different parts. The house was constructed in Qajar dynasty and it’s one of the traditional houses of Kashan. According to the documents of this museum, the ceremony of Golabgiry backs to 2000 years ago in Sassanid era. At that time people celebrated this event and sent a jewelry badged bottle full of their best rose water to the king. At this museum you can get familiar with traditional ways of producing rose water. The huge copper pot and evaporation systems in this house show the evolution of this system during centuries.

The best time to visit the city is from mid-May to mid-June, when the aromatic damask roses are ready to be picked and their wonderful smell is spread all over the village.
