The Jame mosque in each city is the most important mosque and in each monarchy the kings paid attention to it and always took care and renovated it. According to the oldest found description, Masjid Jame Kabir dates back to 12 century and it took almost one hundred years to be completed and accomplished. The base was a temple of fire for the Zoroastrians and was built as a mosque in order of Ala-o Dolleh Kalanjar in Al-e Bouyeh dynasty and renovated several times.
The mosque architecture is basically in Azary style of Persian architecture.The mosque is crowned by 2 minarets at reign Shah Tahmasb, the Safavid king, which are the highest minaret in Iran. One of the minarets has one pair of stairs to climb so when two people are passing by, will not meet each other. Instead, the other minaret has none, and it made the decorating process so much harder.
The Dome certainly is the most beautiful part of this mosque.
