Yazd province is located in a dry valley and it has a semi-dry, dry climate with so hot summers and cold winter. In such conditions water is something that is highly needed and that’s why the people of Yazd invented Qanat, a system to transfer the water of the mountain and underground waters by tunnels. it would be Kept in Ab Anbar.
The architectecture is in good relation with the weather condition and climate of that area. The cistern is constructed below the ground level, so in hot summer less water would be lost because of the heat and the water temperature will be cold. for ventilation and also another way to chill the temperature of water and was the windcatchers, the high clay towers guide air masses and winds and create a pressure gradient between the top and the base of the windcatcher and because of the difference of temperature the air will circulate and the ventilating prevent from any dust or humidity, so the pure, clean, fresh and cold water would available during the year. This water reservoir has 6 windcatchers because of the hot weather it is in octagonal.
