The ALI GOLI AGHA public bath, is one amazing public bath, located in an old district of Isfahan made by Ali Gholi-Agha, one of King Suleiman and King Sultan Hosein’s servants in 1713.
The reason why people used to go to public baths was not just to wash themselves, but it was a way for them to do business, to socialize and moreover, it was a place people used to find a wife or a husband for their children. Being in a public bath was a way to see and check the overall physical health of girls. In addition, there were some celebrations and ceremonies for newborn babies.
One of the special features of this public bath is the existence of one meter long white stones containing some bums on the surface which were supposed to play the role of a massage place. Moreover, the lighting system contains some holes and glasses causing the light to break and reduce the wasted energy. It is amazing to know that the glasses are made in a way that people outside can’t see inside of the bath which shows how able and considerate the builders were.
There are plenty of public bathes in the world the water for which is coming from the mountains e.g. Liquid Bath in Rome. But this bath is also a museum as well which would bring to you a unique experience.
