Ab Malakh waterfall is one of the most beautiful waterfalls of Iran, located in 160 Km southwest of Isfahan in Semirom county. It is made naturally but in a strange way. The waterfall is above a river and the source of it is a spring in the mountain. Hundred years ago a rock had been fallen from the mountain and blocked the river path. But the strong water made a hole into this rock during years and found his way. Now it directs the water of the spring into the river “Marbar” like a waterfall and makes a beautiful scene.
The waterfall is wonderful for nature lovers and if you are a professional sculler it would be an exciting adventure for you. Behind the waterfall, there is a dangerous but amazing cliff.
Not only the beauty of the waterfall is unique but it has a special combination. Believe it or not, the chemical compound of the waterfall can be used as a pesticide for grasshoppers. That is why it is called Ab Malakh which means “grasshopper water”.
This is not the end of marvels of this waterfall. If you go to the village close to the waterfall you can watch the rise and fall of the sun only in 3 hours. The high rock of the mountain overshadows the village which is called Nimrouz means “half day”.
The best time to visit it is spring and summer and you have to have a short maintaining for 30 minutes.
