The Nisar Cave or Rais Cave is located in Niasar district, in Kashan city. The cave is mand made in Partian era (248 BCE). The natural chamber was hand-duged to 2500 meters long. The cave is on three floors and has 20 chambers. It has 4 entrance and two separate sections.
The central section is skillfully carved in 8 chambers. The other sector is connected to this one by tunnel and wells. The cave has two types of tunnels: vertical and horizontal. Halls in different high connect the chambers and in some tunnels, there is no choice but creep and craw to pass through it..
It is believed that this cave was a Mitra temple and they worship their own God at full darkness. One of their ceremonies was a sacrifice. The founded stone sculpture of a goat head is a symbol of it.
