The Zayandehrood river is the source of all the beauty and vitality of Isfahan. The river is the water supplier of the agricultural lands, gardens and royal palaces. At Safavid era, the urban planner Sheikh Bahi has designed a wonderful plan for supplying the water of the city from Zayandehrood by a water network called Madi.
The Nazhvan forest park covers an area of 1200 hectares on the sideline of the Zayanderood river. The name Nazhvan has two parts “Nazh” or “Naz” which is a kind of poplar tree and “Van” means the place.
Fortunately, the city expanding and urbanism did not destroy Nazhvan area and we still can enjoy a short walk in its great atmosphere and moderate weather. In the grace of the numerous trees, the air of that area is the clearest In Isfahan.
