the benefit of traveling by car is to see the nature around the roads. The lush grassland and mountain do not let you be bored on the car, but the mountain in Zanjan-MIyaneh highway would not let you keep driving. The dazzling colorful mountain will amaze you and you have to stop for a moment to watch its beauty. The rainbow mountain called Ala Dagh lar. It is combined of two parts Ala which means” variegated” and Dagh means “Mountain” so it means “colorful mountain”. by hiking it you may feel being on another planet that may be true because the combination of all this color is something rare in our planet. it takes almost 24 million years for mother nature to form such fantastic hills. different minerals and oxidation had made different colors; red, yellow, green, orange, brown and such breathtaking perspective. The local people like these hills and use them to decorate their home. For Norouz (Persian new year) the women mix the red soil with water and decorate their walls with it. It means the new year is coming.
The best time to visit this mountain is after rainfall. Because the rain will appear the color better and if you be lucky you can see two rainbows at the same time.
