HIGHLIGHT
Hiking to Zard Lime waterfall
Visiting and staying the night with nomads
6000 years old Dezpart steps
Crossing the river with a zip line
Zard Lime waterfall
Crossing the river with a sheep skin raft

Gazestan village
Gazestan village

In the morning we leave Esfahan and drive to the village of Gazestan where our hike begins with one of the trip's highlights – crossing the Bazoft river with a raft made of several air-inflated sheep skins. While we comfortably float a local will swim next to the raft and steer it. We will have a typical nomadic lunch with a nomad family along the way and in the evening we will reach another family that will host us for the night. We will use our time with them to witness some of their daily routines of collecting wood, gathering and milking sheep and preparing fire for making bread. The night we sleep in a million stars hotel or inside the nomadic tent.

In the morning we will continue our hike to reach the Zard Lime waterfall in the afternoon.

As if the stunning waterfall itself is not enough the highlight and most interesting part of reaching it is actually crossing the river again – but this time with a zip line that nomads living in the area have built.

The rest of the day we will use for photographing and enjoying the waterfall or hanging out with nomads living nearby. Dinner and sleeping in a million stars hotel.

Dezpart steps
Dezpart steps

Early in the morning we start our hike back to Gazestan. Along the way we will again have lunch with the nomads and also pass the 6000 years old Dezpart steps that were built inside the cliffs.
We will finish our hike with crossing the river over a big rock that locals believe god collapsed with an earthquake so that they can easily cross it. For that reason they gave it the name Khoda afarin (in translation “Well done god”).
Both the steps and the bridge are used in nomads' seasonal migration. In the evening we will be back in Gazestan and in the night back in Esfahan.
